I have Pro on my PC as I use it for work and rendering and I have the free version on my laptop for fun projects, I am still using the desktop free version on my laptop as the web version is still lacking several critical features that have not been introduced yet.In our start-up days at Software, one of our team mottos was ‘ 3D for the Rest of Us.’ The ‘rest of us,’ were professionals who didn’t want - or couldn’t afford - complicated, confusing CAD. The only reason there was ever a free version anyway was Google wanted a tool so users would create free 3D models to populate Google Earth, however when that did not happen they created an algorithm to do it instead and sold off SketchUp. Google sold SketchUp years ago, it's now owned by Trimble. It's mainly because the newer versions of SketchUp support new features that don't exist in prior versions. And at least in this case there are several solutions.

Alternatively you can upload the model to the 3D warehouse, download it at an earlier version and then delete it. If you have a model from somebody that has used Pro 2018 then they need to backsave that for you. The desktop version allowes you to backsave to the first few versions no problem. The web version is new but it's still in development. The desktop free version is still available on the site.
